Why I almost quit...and want to be sure you don't!

Amelia Dalphonse, MA, BCBA

instructor, business owner, mentor

The field of ABA can be infinitely rewarding, but it can also be stressful, confusing and even terrifying, especially when you’re first starting out.  I know.  I’ve been there.  When I first started I almost gave up.  This is why I have made it my mission to provide the support so many in the field are unable to find.

While taking classes to get my master’s degree in ABA, I had been asked to apply for a position supervising a program for children with autism in a community mental health center.  This is the same program I had been working in when providing direct services.  The position was historically held by a licensed clinical therapist, but for a variety of reasons, they were having a difficult time filling the position when it became vacant.

That’s when they approached me.

Although I knew there were many things about the job that I didn’t want any part of, I also firmly believe that you can’t complain about something if you aren’t willing to take action to make a change.  I applied and ultimately accepted the role, feeling largely unprepared and unqualified

We know about your hectic schedule. That’s why our courses are short and results-focused.  They are completely online so you can take them anywhere.  And they’re designed to give you what you need so you can go on with your day.

In addition to our online classroom, we also offer BCBAs access to document generation tools that will automate FBA and BIP creation.  Access to this includes free courses, downloadable resources and a private forum just for members.  It’s like having a team of BCBAs behind you!

Amelia Dalphonse, our BCBA, provides top-quality supervision for BCBA candidates.  When online courses and membership isn’t enough either 1-on-1 or with group coaching is available to help you !

As we grow, our requests for supervision and consultation have exceeded our capacity.  We are looking to add top-notch BCBAs to our network.  Find out how to join!

About Master ABA

We are committed to the ethical use of ABA to help individuals with autism to learn in the way that works best for them.

We must be aware of and responsive to the concerns of those who fear ABA.  We must continue to drive the field toward more sensitive, positive practices.  There will never be a time when everyone agrees on the subject.  However, as professionals we must listen to the opinions of those people who we are trying to help and respond to their concerns.

The mission of our training is teach professionals to use ABA principles to help individuals with autism in a way that respects them as neurodiverse individuals.  Together we will change the field.
