Building a Collaborative Relationship with Parents and Caregivers

Collaborative relationships between a BCBA and parents or caregivers set the stage for successful parent training. After taking this course, you will:

  • Understand the 4 As of an effective partnership
  • Know elements of communication and action that contribute to a collaborative relationship
  • Demonstrate skills associated with being a “behavioral artist”
  • Use an assessment tool to measure parent stress

Amelia is a BCBA working with children and young adults with autism. She has been working in the field since 2009 and has worked in a variety of settings including homes, schools, the community and clinics. She previously taught young children in a variety of settings including Head Start. She has a passion for helping children and families reach their full potential.
